Water Treatment

water treatment and sampling
Water treatment, sampling conducted on-site

Whatever your water treatments needs are, we've got you covered. From discovery and assessment right through to a range of treatment options for waters on the surface, under the ground, passing through or adjacent. iEnvironmental will develop tailor-made solutions for you. Our water treatment include innovative technology suppliers and designers from across the globe to provide the latest, proven technologies for wastewater and groundwater treatment., whether its  contaminated?, you suspect its contaminated or you are just not sure and need someone to check... we are here to help! Often this need arises when you are preparing for development, sale, purchase, lease or end of lease. We understand the complexity and are looking forward to helping you.

Our Approach

Our approach has three main phases, each leading when neccessary to the next. Our aim is to control your costs through progressive elimination of risks and through knowledge acquired. Our approach enables you to have a good understanding of your suspected or confirmed contaminations and to enable you to effectively manage your site now and into the future. While the steps are common  for many contaminants, our wide experience with individual contaminants allows us to deliver a timely cost effective solutions where you are in control of the process (and budget).
1. Preliminary Site Investigation
This is a paper based study that investigates the known history of the site, including its use and can provide good evidence on the the scale (if any ) of the contamination. We also look to the neighbouring geography to look for cross contamination. For many clients looking to cover their bases this might be as far as you need to go. If you need to go further it is an effective tool in fine tuning your onsite testing to reduce time and cost required.
2. On-Site Testing
Based on the outcomes of our PSI or evidence you have collected from the site our next stage is to conduct field testing on site. The sample includes any zones of particular interest together with boundary samples or anything our modelling of water or land shifting suggests. Our tests are dependant on your intended land use in the future and can include top layer as well as bore samples. These build an effective evidence portfolio going forward
3. Site Remediation
Based on the results our field tests and the intended land use we develop if needed a customised remediation plan including removal, capping layer(s) and vegetation solutions. Where appropriate we will engage soil, geotechnical and earth moving specialists that we know and have used for many years and take care of all the management of the entire project, with regular reporting to you!.

Water Treatment  Experience

iEnvi has extensive experience in Australia and overseas in providing innovative and proven technologies, and tailor-made teams of remediation experts and technologies to maximise success, using a procurement model that minimises costs.

Some of our solutions and technologies include:

  • Reed beds- passive, low cost water treatment and sludge treatment using rhizoidal bacteria, fungus and algae to treat organics, landfill leachate, inorganics, oilfield water, sewage, and airport effluent including PFCs. If you have a large amount of land then this should be considered.
  • Catalytic Advanced Oxidation - lower CAPEX and OPEX than any comparable treatment, this will treat organics and inorganics, denaturing and filtering materials, and is one of the more promising treatments for perfluorinated compounds (PFCs).
  • Sequencing Batch Reactor - one of the smallest footprint treatments for high-nutrient/organic content water, with low holding capacity required (fast treatment) - significantly reducing COD and BOD using a very small footprint for treatment machinery.
  • In situ chemical oxidation / reduction ISCO/ISCR - a variety of oxidation and reduction chemicals for groundwater
  • Detailed conceptual site models and hydrogeological studies are required for success, and very few consultants have necessary experience to implement these treatments successfully (and we know which consultants will have greatest chance of success).
  • Natural Attenuation Studies - combined with detailed risk assessment, natural attenuation studies are important for all groundwater treatments and CUTEP projects - detailed understanding of the bacteria and phases and availability of electron donors and receptors are paramount to success.
  • 3D Modelling and Visualisation - we work with the best 2D/3D modellers so you and your team can easily visualise what is happening beneath the ground.
